Fundamental Factors To Consider When Opting For A Bepsoke Furniture

Getting a bespoke furniture created can be a wonderful process if the piece that you are wanting to get prepared is entirely unique. Moreover, the experience of owning furniture made to order can be even more delightful if it is crafted as per the rich craftsmanship and design of furniture of Britain. However, you have to consider several fundamental factors when opting for a bespoke furniture in Reading. Some of those basic elements are as follows:

Design

Investment should be done properly by dividing the manufacturing cost and design fees, and each of them must be considered separately. Proper investment is extremely essential if you want something which matches exactly with your requirements and specifications, and it would also depend on the amount of time taken for completing the furniture piece. Presentation of designs can be made in the form of sketches, models or computer aided diagrams. However, models or computer aided drawings can be a bit expensive. But they can help to identify any issue occurring with the design and get the matter resolved immediately.

Make a List

It is important for you to be absolutely clear about what you want. A good furniture maker will enquire you about your specifications several times before starting their work. Keep ready a list of requirements such as functionality, suitable size and location within the room. The maker or designer will extract such details from you properly during the long discussion and make an outline as per your requisites. It any require more than one discussion for both parties to reach a satisfactory conclusion.

Budget

As has been mentioned earlier, custom furniture pieces are expensive. Therefore, it is important for you to have a sensible discussion with your furniture maker about the cost long before anything is finalised. Most people speculate that cost of the material is the primary dictating factor. However, the kind of timber used, the type of upholstery, the amount of labour required to design the item, are some of the other important factors as well in deciding the price.

Payments

A majority of furniture makers offering bespoke services usually undercharge for their work. Some of them even end up working for extra hours and do not charge anything for that. Bigger firms understand the commercial principles better, but independent designers are more interested in achieving customer satisfaction than making profit. Therefore, most designers expect their clients to pay at least half of the manufacturing cost while the work is in progress.

Advantages of bespoke furniture

The term 'bespoke' is commonly used in United Kingdom and many other countries. However, it is hardly used in the USA rather the term custom-made or custom furniture is common in the United States.

Bespoke furniture is basically any piece of furniture, which is custom made. It is made to specifications of the customer. Its features and size both are determined by the customer. Any type of furniture can be custom made. This means bespoke furniture may range from chairs and cabinets to tables, doors and even bedheads.

Furniture makers in Berkshire often offer bespoke furniture as a purchase option for their customers. Here the purchase method usually involves one or two meetings with the furniture maker for discussing the design & features, which are to be included within the furniture. After the manufacturer gets an idea what their customer wants, they ensure to make their furniture in that way.

There are many advantages of bespoke furniture. Given below are those advantages. Have a look at them:

Unique pieces

Customers after browsing the web and magazines come up with a design idea that is fit for their room. The size, shape, colour, material and design is in no way same like any other piece, which serves the same function. So, in that way, it is unique. And everyone would like to have a unique furniture at their home.

Bespoke

There are a lot of rooms that have odd nooks, angles or spaces in which prefabricated furniture is not going to fit. Bespoke furniture is an ultimate solution for using those spaces in the best way. The custom piece is actually built keeping in mind the specific shapes and sizes and so it can fit in that space.

Price

Prefabricated pieces are generally less costly than bespoke furniture. This means homeowners not only get the opportunity to fit the right size and style of piece in their room, they also get the benefit of paying a lot less.

Are you looking for a furniture maker who can provide you with a bespoke furniture in Berkshire? You can find a number of shops offering this service. Browse the internet and choose the one that you think will be able to meet your demands. Don't forget to read the reviews by their previous customers about their services.

Things to Take Care of Before Buying A Dresser for Your Bedroom

After the bed, a dresser is the most important constituent of a bedroom, for it not only serves as the storage area for linens, clothes and other items of regular usage, but also provides a space for you to arrange your looks. For these reasons, buyers must exercise care before buying a dresser so that the selected piece functions optimally and easily harmonises with decoration of the bedroom. The steps of pre-planning include analysing the storage needs, deciding the most appropriate style and measuring the space available in the bedroom. You can even get the desired dresser prepared for you by furniture dealers who sell furniture made to order in Berkshire.

When purchasing a dresser, you must also recognise the signs which indicate whether quality materials have been used for its construction or not. By following a few essentials, you can easily find a suitable dresser for your bedroom.

Size and Available Space

Before you go about shopping for a suitable dresser to fill in your bedroom, take measurements of the available space in your bedroom and then determine the approximate area you want the dresser to cover, including height, breadth and depth. If there is any door or window close to the place where you plan to place your dresser, make sure there is enough space to open them. When purchasing the dresser, in order to ensure that it fits within the size range, check the product descriptions carefully. Also determine whether you need a dresser with big drawers or small drawers, keeping in mind your storage requirements.

Style

Generally there are four different styles for dressers, which include, traditional, country, contemporary and modern. The traditional kind of dressers feature styles hailing from the 17th to 19th century, such as baroque designs, architectural ornamentations and meticulous carvings. Dressers with country style include characteristics inspired by countryside elements and are usually painted in white or have wooden finishes. Contemporary dressers have a light appearance for an uncluttered, calm and decorative mood, and usually feature neat, geometric lines devoid of any ornamentation. Modern dressers typically emphasise the Machine Age with their asymmetrical designs and glossy surfaces. You need to choose the style that will match with your room's interior décor.

Material and Quality

Dressers are made using a variety of materials like wood, veneer, bamboo, wicker and glass. Wood is the most durable and sturdy material, and can even outlive its fibreboard equivalents. When you are buying a dresser, look for those with solid wood backings and drawers, as these have the maximum durability. Glue, staples and nails are all indications of low quality construction. Check if the wood used in the dresser was kiln-dried, for it helps to prevent splitting and peeling.

So, always keep these few points in mind while choosing a dresser for your bedroom.

The Different Types of Tables

A table is generally used for putting ornamental items upon or to support a specific kind of work. It consists of a flat surface that is supported by legs. The number of legs of a table may vary from three to four with the top flat surface being of any size, shape, texture or colour. The material used for making the top of a table can be  wood, aluminium, steel, glass or iron. Larger tables generally have more legs than smaller ones for proper distribution of weight. Some tables like the Pedestal have just one leg and are placed against walls. Table tops can be square, circular, rectangular or even oval.

Pembroke Tables – These are used for a variety of purposes. They first came into being in the eighteenth century. Their size vary from medium to small and they have a round or rectangular top. The four legs of a pembroke table are often connected by means of a stretcher. Pembroke tables are provided with drawers on their sides.
Tripod Tables – Like the pembroke tables, tripod tables were also used in the eighteenth century. These tables typically have a round top supported by three legs. Previously they were also known as tea tables or candle stands.

Sofa Tables – Sofa tables are made small or medium sized and are rectangular in shape, often provided with a glass top. They typically have four short legs and are long in width. They are used for utilitarian as well as decorative purposes such as serving tea, placing lamps, writing, etc.

Work Tables – These were originally invented for the sole purpose of placing sewing machine on it, to ease the task of tailors, in the 19th century. Work tables can be folded and are provided with drawers but on one side of the table, unlike pembroke tables that have drawers on either side.

Drum Tables – They are usually made in small or medium sizes, and have round tops. The corners of these tables have drawers going around them. There are, however, some drum tables which are built in the shape of a barrel and are best suited for placing ornamental items on their top. Drum tables are generally used in writing purposes.

Most furniture makers in Berkshire are skilled in the art of making tables from fine quality timber such as yew, maple, elm, english oak, mahogany, etc. They also offer the option of custom-made tables which are constructed according to the exact needs of their customers.
